To help me complete the Typographic Spec I've been looking at some others. I think I should have had this planned before I started designing but it was a bit chicken and egg!

After the Indesign sessions with Mike I realised I could use the slug area for the annotation. Also it allows you to export the document including non printing objects and guides and bleeds:
