Visual language - What is a line?

As a group we came up with twenty techniques/ approaches and 20 themes as below:

Each other group came up with the same which meant we had up to 100 themes and 100 approaches to consider

From there individually we each chose ten approaches and themes which we would like to use to answer the brief.  Mine were: 

After discussing our ten choices with our table, we each selected the three favourites and linked each back to one of the quotes in the brief.  Following this we swapped sheets with some one in a different group and each commented on which was their preference and why. Mine were:

I actually like all three ideas at the moment.  I immediately thought about the Gary Hulme water paintings when I thought about line drawing and faces.
